Removal of boiler tubes, cutting out damaged tube sheet sections, fabrication and fitting of a new sheet, and expansion of the tube ends.
The boiler is opened and the work area prepared. Existing tubes are removed and the damaged section of the sheet is cut out. A new sheet is dimensioned and fabricated with the hole pattern matched to the existing equipment. The sheet is positioned and welded into the shell, new tubes are fitted and their ends expanded. Much of this work is carried out on board in confined spaces.
The photographs were taken in the field and in the workshop. The captions describe only what is visible.
Scope and duration are not quoted before the failure has been seen in place. Let us know the port where the vessel lies and the type of equipment, and contact us using the details below to arrange a survey.
